Airbus bribery in Saudi Arabia

British Fraud Service (Serious Fraud Office) officials would have interviewed six people in connection with an investigation in the long term for bribery of a subsidiary of Airbus in Saudi Arabia, reported the Financial Times. Two of them are still employed by GPT Special Project Management, a subsidiary of the European group dedicated to telecommunications equipment for the Saudi National Guard. Two others are attached to the British Ministry of Defense.

The case started after the revelations of a former employee regarding the conditions for obtaining a contract of £ 1.5 billion in Saudi Arabia. Legal experts who spoke to the British newspaper believe that these interviews could mean that the investigation is entering its final phase.

The procedure had already been raised by the British press in 2012 . Airbus, EADS at the time, had launched an internal investigation .
