Emirates Airlines to use superjumbo for Rome flights

The Emirates Airlines will deploy soon a second Airbus A380 for daily flights between Dubai and Rome. As of August 29, 2014, the two daily flights of the UAE-airline between its base and the airport of Rome-Fiumicino will be operated via superjumbo, configured with 14 suites first, 76 lie-flat seats in business class and 399 seats in economy.

Departures from Dubai are scheduled at 9:10 ET 3:55 p.m. (8:05 p.m. and arrival 13:15), return flights leaving Italy at 10:05 p.m. 3:25 p.m. ET (11:16 p.m. ET arrival the next day at 5:45 am). No direct competition for Emirates Airlines on this route, but many Gulf companies are present in the Italian capital: Etihad Airways from Abu Dhabi, Kuwait Airways from Kuwait and Qatar Airways from Doha.

Emirates Airlines also serves Milan twice a day and Venice on a daily basis from Dubai. The deployment of a second A380 to Rome is at the expense of Moscow-Domodedovo , which will keep a daily flight by A380 and the other 777-300ERs.
