The Annual Investment Meeting 2014 started on Tuesday in Dubai. Under the theme of Investments Partnerships for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in Emerging and Frontier Markets, the event runs until Thursday.
The focus of the conference is to discuss the role of foreign direct investments in the Arab world and in emerging countries. On the agenda are panels, ministerial roundtables, countries presentations and business meetings. Among the panelists will be Sultan Al Mansouri , Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, Mustafa Osman Ismail , Minister of Investment of Sudan, Arancha Gonzalez, executive director of the International Trade Centre (Intracen, entity maintained by the WTO and UN) , Zahra Maafiri, director general of Morocco Export , Carlos Alberto Aguilar, director of investments at Pro Ecuador, among others.
The event brings together representatives from countries such as Mexico, Poland, Portugal, China, Indonesia, Germany, Ukraine, Russia, Angola, Kenya, France, Cyprus and the United States. In total, the organization expects to receive 10,000 investors from 120 countries.
