The UAE announced on Monday an aid of about $ 40 million to rebuild homes in Gaza Strip destroyed by the hostilities between Hamas and Israel.
This 150 million dirhams aid is a part of an agreement between the UAE Red Crescent (RCUAE) and the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), according to a statement by the RCUAE.
This initiative focuses on rebuilding damaged homes and rehabilitation hospitals, schools and service establishments, according to the president of RCUAE, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, quoted in the statement.
The UAE had announced an aid of 52 million dollars to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in the early days of the Israeli offensive.
Hundreds of homes were destroyed or severely damaged since the beginning of the Israeli operation against Hamas, launched on July 8. More than 600 Palestinians were killed in the conflict, and 27 Israelis, including 25 soldiers.
